Rental Facilities at Shadow Lake

From September to May, Shadow Lake Centre’s facilities are available to rent for group retreats, gatherings, and special events. Just 45 minutes from Toronto, Shadow Lake offers a peaceful, nature-filled setting that feels far from the city—without being far away.

Set on over 300 acres of rolling landscape, the property provides space to unplug, explore, and connect. Groups can enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, as well as access to our private lake for canoeing, paddleboarding, and swimming during appropriate seasons. On site, you’ll also find a wheelchair-accessible campfire pit, recreation hall, indoor basketball court, and sports barn.

Shadow Lake is a popular choice for schools, scouts and guides, yoga retreats, faith groups, and other community organizations. In the off-season, our unique setting has also attracted production teams, with numerous films, commercials, and TV series shot on site.

Rental options include:

  • Dining hall only

All proceeds from our rental facilities fund Community Living Toronto’s Services for Children, Youth, and Adults with Disabilities.

Hear What Groups Have to Say:

“Our church had a great camping experience at Shadow Lake 4 years ago, just before the COVID. This year, we just enjoyed another sweet and memorable stay at the camp in September.

We recommend this campsite to anyone who is looking for a nearby campsite with a splendid sunset view at a very affordable rate. Water facilities were also available and included in the rental rate. The interior lake is ideal for someone looking for a very smooth and calm ride in the kayak.

Compared with the last time we visited the camp, the campsite had many upgrades in the dining hall with a sound system and a drop-down projector. The kitchen is fully equipped and with a serving area. The dining hall is spacious to accommodate up to 100 campers. Washrooms in the cabins were upgraded and renovated to fit the needs in each cabin.

Most important of all, all the staff are extremely helpful and demonstrated full flexibility in allowing our camp visits and the choice of cabins. We used the catering company in the camp. All our campers enjoyed the meals very much at a reasonable menu price. They were very helpful in matching our delayed lunchtime.

All in all, Shadow Lake campsite will be on our top list of choices in choosing a campsite in the future.”

- Ray Chan, Markham Chinese Mennonite Church

“Shadow Lake centre was the perfect choice to hold our Annual Mom’s Retreat for mothers raising a child with a developmental disability.  The grounds provided the serenity the mothers were craving and the opportunity for quiet walks, outdoor meditation and socializing around the campfire at night.  The large dining hall brightly lit with natural light was ideal for the group discussions.”

- Tracey O’Regan, Inclusion Coordinator & Education Liaison at Community Living Toronto

“We can't say enough about Shadow Lake. Beautiful location. Affordable pricing.  Shadow Lake has been a wonderful experience for the people at CLNH to make lasting memories and friendships.  Each year we see the great impact that good wholesome fun has on growth and learning. Truly a gem!”
